The U.S. Food and Drug Administration provides a list weekly of all foods, drugs and medical products which have been recalled by the manufacturer. An examination of the FDA recalled products lists shows that in the 152 weeks between June 16, 1999 and May 15, 2002, Cryolife had 96 different recalls of tissue, all of which were essentially undertaken because essential safety screening of the cadaver donor had not taken place before the tissue was shipped by Cryolife for implantation into another person. A summary of the Cryolife recalls is available in the chart below. No recall was issued by Cryolife of tissue which it had shipped which had the same cadaver donor that supplied the tissue to Brian Lykins.
